The history of this hat:
The Blue Line hat is so much more than a hat to Bearded Outdoors. It is a symbol of our appreciation to those in Law Enforcement across the country. To owners Reese and Amber Richards it was a way to give back to a grieving community.
Reese Richards started by designing two hats. One was for himself and the other for a high school buddy who was a Kentucky highway patrolman at the time. Little did he know, God was going to use this very hat to bring comfort and relief to the people of Trenton, Florida.
On the morning of April 19, 2018, Reese posted a picture of the hat on social media that said " Back the blue ". Unfortunately, just hours later on the same day, two Gilchrist county deputies were ambushed and killed by a gunman while on duty. Reese and Amber, his wife, knew they had to help and decided to sell the Blue Line hats and donate the money to the families of the fallen deputies.
In one week, they sold three hundred hats and donated forty-five hundred dollars to the families of Sargeant Noel Ramirez Jr. and Deputy Sheriff Taylor Lindsey.
